An app built using React to browse various quotes called from an API and select and store your favorites. It also features a dropdown menu that allows you to sort quotes by category and multiple conditionally rendered messages across the page.

This app was created for Chingu Voyage 50 as part of a group effort with my Voyage team. It is a simulated restaurant webpage taking data from a menu JSON and displaying various food items. Using local memory, users are able to add these items to a cart and select a credit amount to add in order to make a "purchase".

Guess the Word Game

A web app built using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and an API to source random words. In this game players guess the word by entering one letter at a time. If the player guesses all the letters correctly before they use up their allotted guesses, they win!

About Me
Hey there! I’m Ken Ellingsen, a front end web developer that builds responsive, accessible, and easy to use websites.
I’ve always had an interest in figuring out how the things around me work, which is how I ended up getting my B.S. in Physics. After exploring some of my other passions, settling down and diving into development felt like one of the best ways to see how the things I use online almost every day are put together. While my skills are strongest in front end development I’m continuing to expand my skill set with the back end development tools and knowledge to become a well rounded full stack developer.
When I'm not at my desk or watching a movie you can usually find me enjoying the outdoors while I'm hiking, backpacking, skiing, or cycling. On the side I also dabble in wood working, fixing bikes, and making mead.
